Visions
My eyes toward visions of God I raise
Though inner shadows obstruct my gaze
And feet that would upon God’s path have tread
Lead me far away from Him instead.
My God, I pray, do let Your wisdom’s light
Relieve me of the burden of my plight
Take heed of my sincere attempts to change
And favorable conditions thus arrange.

Thanks for posting. I like it! If I can draw a parallel: Wisdom's light is like moonlight. Since the moon doesn't have its own light, but reflects back the light it gets from the sun, so does the studying and acquisition of wisdom from good sources reflect back into the world though good deeds. Note: Parallel not drawn in connection to my screename.
Thank you for sharing this. It would be great to see/hear this in Hebrew.
I had been working on a Hebrew version but I wasn't satisfied with it enough to publish it yet.
